Lottes, Assistant to the President, in which Lottes justifies his decision to assign the "African Design" course to the Design Division, attached to a later correspondence from Lederer to President Harry Ford and Martin Streich, Chairman of Basic Studies, insisting that "African Design has no place in the Design Program". And a final message from President Ford stating that "African Design" would become part of the Black Studies Department.
